about us
January 2019 marked Havering Dance Festival’s first year hosted by Horizons Dance Company.
HDF is an accessible, diverse and open platform promoting high quality dance through performance, industry insights and networking opportunities.
Mission: To widen opportunities for all people to engage with health and well-being that dance promotes, encouraging participation in a positive community and creating new performance and networking opportunities for dance artists across Havering and London.
HDF is supported by Havering College and founded by Artistic Director Jo Leahy.
Horizons Dance Company is the Havering College youth dance company, for people aged
16 - 21 years.
HDC provides creative young people the space to work individually and together as a company to challenge themselves as young dancers and choreographers. HDC offers a high quality dance experience and is a catalyst for young people to make, create and perform, creating a supportive environment where every dancer is free to express themselves and grow creatively.
The company has performed at venues such as The Space - Ardleigh Green Hornchurch, Queens Theatre, Hornchurch, Kenneth More Theatre Ilford and Millfield Theatre, London. HDC are excited to be hosting Havering Dance Festival and look forward to welcoming all participants to our home.
